There is a very old famous Korean drama. It is a very old drama that aired in 2002, and it is still very famous that is sometimes introduced on the air. The title of the drama is Winter Sonata, which is a poem about love that was also cited in the drama. It seems that the first love contains feelings of separation, excitement for love that starts again, and lingering feelings for the past love.

The flight    By Sara Teasdale

Look back with longing eyes and know that I will follow,

Lift me up in your love as a light wind lifts a swallow,

Let our flight be far in sun or blowing rain -

But what if I heard my first love calling me again?

Hold me on your heart as the brave sea holds the foam,

Take me far away to the hills that hide your home;

Peace shall thatch the roof and love shall latch the door -

But what if I heard my first love calling me once more?

 'The flight' By Sara Teasdale

When the title of this poem is translated into Korean, it seems to be translated into many different meanings. Perhaps it is a poem about longing for one's first love, so it can be interpreted in more ways.

I arranged it to match the pictures of the sea in this poem. I think this poem about excited love has a very similar feeling to a trip to the sea during the summer vacation season. I think it is a trip with high expectations and rich dreams, and it is an opportunity to look forward to another relationship.

The pen I used for transcription today is a pen that I haven't used often because I haven't written well for a while, but I practiced it several times and tried to transcribe it again.

The poet says that she has been sleeping with amethyst under her pillow since she was young, or she used to fall asleep with the amethyst in her hand.

One day, she lost her amethyst while taking a walk. After learning about it, she was very sad at first, but later thought that the amethyst had returned to Earth, which comforted her.

Her transition of ideas is so wise. It's a positive idea that changes the anxiety and loss that's coming to her in a very good way.

It is said that this beautiful poem was made based on this story.

The Lost Jewel  By Emily Dickinson

I held a jewel in my fingers
And went to sleep.
The day was warm, and winds were prosy;
I said: "'T'will keep."

I woke and chid my honest fingers,
The gem was gone;
And now an amethyst remembrance
Is all I own.

She may be happier for herself if she finds the missing gem again, but I think she's wise to shift her mind to console herself. I also think I should learn this part again by reading this poem.

The pictures above are arranged so that you can imagine amethyst fading away.

" The Lost Jewel " By Emily Dickinson

These days, I often transcribe with a pencil. That's because the sound of writing is good for listening. Please visit my YouTube channel.  🙏

This poem is a very concise and short poem by Emile Dickinson. But it has deep meaning. The moment a word is thrown away, the word disappears, but at that moment a word is born and becomes one being.
In a way, it seems to have brought a very small concept of existentialist philosophy.

A word is dead

A word is dead
When it is said,
Some say.

I say it just
Begins to live
That day.

" A Word " By Emily Dickinson

The literary work of poetry is written in a very restrained language and has many implications within it.

The moment the word written in this poem speaks, it can be seen as a work of poetry. In that sense, the words generally spoken by the public and the words that the poet thinks are very different in meaning.

If you look at this picture, I chose it because it felt like the title. The flower, which has not yet blossomed alone, now looks like it was just born, but it looks like it will disappear quickly in the picture. When I see it like that, it has the same meaning as the word in this poem.

Today, I transcribed a beautiful female singer's song that sings so well in Korea. This song has not even been officially released by this singer as a song that she wrote and composed herself. It's a great melody to listen to on a rainy day today.

The lyrics are a little dark. It's like reading a beautiful, but slightly somber poem by Emily Dickinson. I think it's a good song to listen to while slowly savoring it on a rainy day. The words in the lyrics add a lot of unusual and meaningful words to the tune. I hope the song will be released as soon as possible. If you read this, make sure to listen to the song in the link below.

better  /  leejean (ground  zero)

spin my cowwebs on a windowsill on a rainy day
wish that i had something better that is left to say
now I'm sitting here in silence reminiscing all the choices
all the meaningless and empty dialogues I've said
and I wonder why, I would shy away
is it becauase I, is it becauase I've got nothing
is it becauase I, I'm worth something
would they like you better if you were more clever
striving to get better, softer than a feather
beautiful and tethered,  would they like you better

and I wish that I could tell you what's inside my head
but i get just way too nervous what should I have said
and I don't wanna regret I don't wanna let this pass,
try to fight the feeling bite into this paint I felt
and I wonder why,  if I seemed docile,
if I had a heart made of glass that
shines just like a sky, with the sunlight
would they like you better if you were more clever
striving to get better, softer than a feather
beautiful and tethered,
would they like you better
would they like you better

While listening to this song, I thought of a picture that goes well with it. And then I saw this picture.

'better' By leejean / B&W

If you look at the whole flower, out of so many buds, there is only one flower blooming. Among them, this flower is located on the edge. The flower looks lonely and beautiful. And it also seems to symbolize hope.

This time, I will show you the picture I transcribed and also give you the link to the video I transcribed.

The poem I transcribed today is called Autumn by Emily Dickinson. Later, after the poet died, people said that Emily Dickinson actually barely had the title of the poem. It was later given the title when the poems were released into the world.

Therefore, some of the scholars who study poetry have been numbered because they have been named in the order in which they have written poetry.

This poem is about autumn and contains content that is very suitable for the season when we are just out of the heat and heading into autumn. I also like that it doesn't deal with a very sad or depressing inner story, unlike other poems.

Autumn  by Emily Dickinson

The morns are meeker than they were,

The nuts are getting brown;

The berry's cheek is plumper,

The rose is out of town.

The maple wears a gayer scarf,

The field a scarlet gown.

Lest I should be old-fashioned,

I'll put a trinket on.

It's a poem that symbolizes autumn, so I was going to post a picture of brown or orange or yellow autumn flowers here, but I was attracted to this picture for some reason, so I took this picture.

This flower is a bellflower. It was blooming in the middle of summer when it was very hot.

I've been a little lazy these days, but I don't like the letters I wrote on my own and I can't even write well with a fountain pen. I think I need to practice more consistently.  😢

This poem is by Jeong Ho-seung, a very famous poet in Korea. If you read this poem, you can see words in a very sad sense expressed in direct, not strong, but calm words.

It's a very short poem, but it's not too stimulating, it's not too direct, but it expresses the overflowing sense of sorry and sadness very well, so I transcribed this poem.

Did the narrator really meet the other person? Or was he expressing regret not being able to go where she was?

I don't know exactly, but I don't think they met. That's why I feel that the poet expressed more and more sorry.

There was a mountain

At the end of the road

There was a road

At the end of the mountain

There was a mountain

At the end of the road again

You were there

At the end of the mountain

Crying with your face buried between your knees

Sorry

I'm sorry I love you

미안하다  /  정호승

As I transcribed this poem, I felt very calm. I remembered and missed people I've been sorry for in my life. I also think I should write more carefully. 😐

ABOUT ME

I have been photographing as a hobby and I am active in Guri,Korea. For my own expression method, I take various flower photos and use a scanner to work on photography. So a small flower in the soil became a pleasant secret in my heart.
