I received one email today that said I won two Honourable Mentions at Tokyo International Foto Awards.  I applied for two works for this year's 2024 contest and I'm so happy to receive both awards. I'm a little upset because I received only one email even though I received two awards.  🤣😂

This year, I welcomed a new morning in my life. I post it here because the flower in the picture looks like it has bloomed in the morning when it opens a new dawn.

I have been photographing as a hobby and I am active in Guri,Korea. For my own expression method, I take various flower photos and use a scanner to work on photography. So a small flower in the soil became a pleasant secret in my heart.

Anyway, today is a very good day. The economy is bad these days and the situation in our country is unstable, but I hope many good things will happen this year.  🙏

 On the day the president of Korea here declared emergency martial law, I received an email saying that I received an award at this photo exhibition. 

On this day, I didn't even know I had an email because I kept watching the news about this disturbing situation.

Here in Korea, we are still in a state of political instability. Still, I am very grateful that the people of our country fortunately prevented emergency martial law.  🙏

In 2022 and 2023, I received the HM in this photo exhibit. Still, I'm so happy to receive the statue this year.

The photo promoted in this contest is the same as the one that received HM at the PX3 Awards recently. Here's a picture right below.

Thankfully, I won the PX3 Awards again this year. While photographing as a hobby, I was most proud of myself and was able to achieve a high sense of accomplishment.

The picture that won this year's award is titled Fairy Song. Below, I show the picture.

Fairy Song

This photo was taken on June 11, 2023. It wasn't even summer yet, and it felt great to grow cosmos in the park in advance and see the cosmos that bloom a lot in autumn in spring. This photo was taken with an XF 150-600 telephoto lens.

It was a pretty hot day because the weather was so nice. The cosmos was blooming beautifully, and a small bug stuck to a flower, so I took pictures of it, and the sun was diagonally shining, so it was a great environment to take pictures of.

The reason why I named the picture like this is because the atmosphere of the picture itself is clear and beautiful.

 Congratulations! You won an Honorable Mention in TIFA 2023 Photo Competition!

I received an e-mail under the above title on January 6, 2024.

The picture that I won HM here in the contest is the color version of the picture that won HM in AnalystSparks 2023.

I mentioned this picture in my previous blog post. So let's look at the color version picture.

 It's my first time applying for TIFA 2023 Photo Competition. It's the same photo, but I'm honored to be able to receive the award by registering with a different edit.

TOKYO INTERNATIONAL FOTO AWARDS is an international photography competition based in Tokyo, Japan. It has held a photography competition since 2016 and has been holding an annual exhibition of award-winning works.

It's aimed at photographers all over the world, but I already have bifa or mifa, so I'm guessing it's a photo contest that focuses more on Asian photographs.

I won an HM at Budapest International Foto Awards 2023  in Nature-Flowers (Non-Professional) BIFA2023 / The Flower Of The Universe 02

You might think it's the same as what I wrote a few days ago, but I got 2 HMs in the same photo contest. 😅

So this time, I will show you the certificate first.

This time, I applied under the title [The Flower Of The Universe 02] and won a HM. I'll show you two pictures on WINNER's page.

If you look at this picture, the colors look like a mixture of purple and pink. The original color of the flower was not like this, but when I printed it out on a broken printer, the blue ink line broke and it didn't come out, so the color turned out wrong. I felt good because the color seemed to be printed more beautifully.

The reason why I named this photo like [The Flower Of The Universe 02] is because the flowers look like they are receiving the energy of the universe by opening their leaves. And in fact, [The Flower Of The Universe 01] is a black and white edited photo.

Last year, I received an HM in this contest, and I'm very happy to win this year as well. Perhaps I'll try to challenge this contest every year so that I can get a higher award.

This time again, the award category is Nature-Flowers (Non-Professional).

The title of this award-winning photo is 'Cosmos In Black'.

If you keep an eye on this photo, you can see that the cosmos leaves look like crowns. I originally took the photo in color, but I changed it back to black and white.

If you look closely at the side of the cosmos standing in the main, you can see another cosmos faintly.

I'm using Fujifilm camera X-T4 and I'm using Capture One as a photo editing program. It's a useful and easy-to-use program for black and white conversions or other filters.

I won a HM in the flower category of IPA 2023 contest.

The International Photography Awards™ is a photography contest that is famous for its many categories and its supporting works are quite high quality.
For that reason, the entry fee for this photo contest is much higher than other contests.

On the evening of September 21, 2023, I received an email with the following title.

[Congratulations, you have been awarded an Honorable Mention in IPA 2023!]

This is official Winner Seal/Logo. I really liked the design of this, so I was even more happy. This time, I will show you the original picture.

This photo was taken in early fall on Sep. 8, 2022. The location was Guri Hangang Park in Guri, Korea. When I took this photo, I was focusing on one cosmos, and after that, the cosmos, which was a little far away, shone like a shadow, showing the image of hugging the cosmos in front of me. I didn't miss that moment.

But I don't take film pictures.

It's a film photo contest, so I just watched the award-winning films of the year of production, and in the category description, I saw a phrase that Fine Art can support works that have undergone offline editing, not digital.

At that moment, my curiosity was triggered and I started looking for works that I could apply for. And I selected only one and applied for it. I feel really good that the application received HM.

The seal or certificate of this contest has a very simple and neat shape.

I'll show you the pictures that I originally took. This photo was taken on April 29, 2023. At that time, when I was taking pictures, it had been raining for a long time the night before, so the raindrops were covered in tulip flowers.

On this day, I went to Jangja Lake Park and took this picture, and it kept raining a little bit, so I took it with a big umbrella. I took a picture in the rain with an umbrella, so I took a picture of the aperture with the maximum opening.

On August 17, 2023, I received an email titled [Congratulations! You are a Px3 2023 Winner!] As soon as I saw the title of this email, I went in and read it.

It didn't say exactly what kind of award it was. It was just that you wanted to go to the contest website and see it. After reading the mail, I went to the website right away and checked the history menu to know that I received the gold.

It's a badge that I downloaded there

This is the highest award I've ever received. The gold letters over there made me excited. I guess I'm the only one who knows how luxurious that badge looks. 😅

It was an autumn day when the sunlight was so beautiful. I wanted to make the background of this photo look like it's snowing, so I opened the aperture to the maximum. Fortunately, I was happy to create a beautiful background. So it wasn't awkward if the cosmos flower was located a little below.


There's a picture of this picture converted to black and white, but I'll upload it.

 Cosmos for you

I took a picture of a beautiful cosmos looking at the sun rising in the autumn sky.

I took a picture of this flower with Fujifilm X-T4 and XF80mm Macro.

At the time of this photograph, I took a single cosmos that was getting very strong sunlight on its side.

The sun was so strong that I used spot photometry and the results were taken so beautifully.

With a very dark background, I tried to capture the expression of the flower, the subject, missing someone.
