The photo promoted in this contest is the same as the one that received HM at the PX3 Awards recently. Here's a picture right below.

I'm glad you've been chosen twice for the same photo. I've confirmed that this photo contest allows duplicate entries from different contests. 😉

I have to wait three weeks to know exactly what kind of award I can get. I look forward to hearing good news then, please.  😒

My transcription today is the lyrics of a beautiful song from a very famous movie. Today is the weekend, so I'm watching TV leisurely, and it's been a long time since this movie was rerun, so I thought I should listen to this music and transcribe this song while savoring the lyrics again today.

Let's watch the video of transcribing this first.

Falling Slowly (Once OST)  B&W

Falling Slowly (Once OST)

I don't know you
But I want you
All the more for that
Words fall through me
And always fool me
And I can't react
And games that never amount
To more than they're meant
Will play themselves out

Take this sinking boat and point it home
We've still got time
Raise your hopeful voice you have a choice
You've made it now

Falling slowly, eyes that know me
And I can't go back
Moods that take me and erase me
And I'm painted black
You have suffered enough
And warred with yourself
It's time that you won

Take this sinking boat and point it home
We've still got time
Raise your hopeful voice you have a choice
You've made it now

Take this sinking boat and point it home
We've still got time
Raise your hopeful voice you have a choice
You've made it now
Falling slowly sing your melody
I'll sing along

I was listening to this song today and it was so good that I transcribed it. ☺

This poem is about regretting not being able to make a true confession to a loved one in the past. This interpretation is a very direct interpretation, and it seems to contain a meaning of resentment that the lover did not understand his feelings properly, although he seems to regret looking back on me in the past.

She was an American female poet and playwright. She started writing poetry when she was a teenager, and after graduating from college, she began publishing poetry collections, becoming a great commercial success.

He was a feminist who believed in free love and, as in this poem, tried to find true love. However, he died in 1950 after suffering from a car accident, without working for a long time as a result of the aftereffects.

“I think I should have loved you presently”

By Edna St. Vincent Millay

I think I should have loved you presently,

And given in earnest words I flung in jest;

And lifted honest eyes for you to see,

And caught your hand against my cheek and breast;

And all my pretty follies flung aside

That won you to me, and beneath your gaze,

Naked of reticence and shorn of pride,

Spread like a chart my little wicked ways.

I, that had been to you, had you remained,

But one more waking from a recurrent dream,

Cherish no less the certain stakes I gained,

And walk your memory’s halls, austere, supreme,

A ghost in marble of a girl you knew

Who would have loved you in a day or two.

The reason why I posted this edited photo is that if I can't reverse my regrets about my past actions, I want to move forward more vigorously.

The car scanned in this photo can be seen as a symbol of such a journey and a bright future.

The following is the result of transcribing this poem.

Thankfully, I won the PX3 Awards again this year. While photographing as a hobby, I was most proud of myself and was able to achieve a high sense of accomplishment.

The picture that won this year's award is titled Fairy Song. Below, I show the picture.

Fairy Song

This photo was taken on June 11, 2023. It wasn't even summer yet, and it felt great to grow cosmos in the park in advance and see the cosmos that bloom a lot in autumn in spring. This photo was taken with an XF 150-600 telephoto lens.

It was a pretty hot day because the weather was so nice. The cosmos was blooming beautifully, and a small bug stuck to a flower, so I took pictures of it, and the sun was diagonally shining, so it was a great environment to take pictures of.

The reason why I named the picture like this is because the atmosphere of the picture itself is clear and beautiful.

Next, I'll post the badge and certificate for this award

It is a poem by Emily Dickinson, a renowned American female poet.
I've transcribed this poet's poem many times before and posted it on this blog.

The poem placed contrasting words in each paragraph. The happy and lonely moments are short, and in return, the chiru expresses the exhaustion and constant effort.

I think reading Emily Dickinson's poetry, sometimes it seems depressing, but it also shows a willingness to deal with the depression that she has expressed in such a way a little deeper.

For each ecstatic instant  By Emily Dickinson

For each ecstatic instant
We must an anguish pay
In keen and quivering ratio
To the ecstasy.

For each beloved hour
Sharp pittances of years –
Bitter contested farthings –
And Coffers heaped with Tears!

For each ecstatic instant  By Emily Dickinson

It's been a while since I posted today. Time goes by really fast.

I transcribed this poem into a Hemisphere fountain pen from Waterman. And I used Irosijuku kiri-same ink.

a transcription video  ->   https://youtube.com/shorts/Jin02zhMEl0

This poem is taken to mean that time passes so fast that it is not recognized that the moment of a shining life is not eternal and disappears in an instant.

Time goes by so fast that I can think of it as a lesson not to cherish the present time and waste it.

Nothing Gold Can Stay   By Robert Frost

Nature’s first green is gold,

Her hardest hue to hold.

Her early leaf’s a flower;

But only so an hour.

Then leaf subsides to leaf.

So Eden sank to grief,

So dawn goes down to day.

Nothing gold can stay.

This time, I transcribed with Waterman's Hemisphere fountain pen. I wrote in iroshizuku KS(kiri-same) for ink. This ink is black, but it's a very pale ink.
Writing with this ink makes me feel like I'm walking in the fog.

In this experiment 25, I tried to staple the picture. I tried to express how I want to force myself to catch the time that goes by quickly. I'll try to put the original of this picture below.

I haven't been able to post often these days. The company's work is a little busy and there are new things to prepare, so it's going a little slow. And it's even more so because my computer is in trouble and I can't edit it right now. I'll try to post more often from next week. 😒😥

Poet Ahn Joo-cheol has not published many poems as Korean poets, but he is said to be a poet who constantly strives and challenges in academia.

I tried to transcribe this poem as a representative work in his recently published poetry collection.

Also, this poem was translated into English well, so I transcribed it together.

Hamburg   By Ahn Joo Cheol

Translated by Jeanine Walker and Shim Jaekwan

Now I have a new hometown to die in and a new grave.

Now I have a far north European port

where I can touch the darkness for a long time.

Even though I recognize that the hometown

I was born in died before me and that a hometown

is nothing but a father,

even though I’m tired of living on the backs of stupid metaphors

and the tumbler on the shaking tips of my fingers is heavy,

the waves that count the age of the sea

flood onto the beach. I untie my mother’s bandage.

Blood-soaked gauze floods in.

The gauze turns away from me and comes rushing in.

Because my daughter’s hometown

is a faraway country where flowers bloom on the horizon,

I decide to forget the village where I was born and its shameful nationality.

Like giving water to a dead tree,

like leaning into a dead tree, my hand trembling,

I decide to forget.

Sitting on the seawall like a fish caught on a hook,

holding a boiled octopus while thinking about

a boiled seawall, I smirk. There may be sand

on my daughter’s toes, but the power of the waves

isn’t necessarily due to the age of the sand.

함부르크  By Ahn Joo Cheol

Reading this poem depicts a scene of complex feelings about life and reminiscing about memories of the past.
It seems to depict the feelings of a boy who has aged.

Dreams  /  Langston Hughes

Hold fast to dreams

For if dreams die

Life is a broken-winged bird

That cannot fly.

Hold fast to dreams

For when dreams go

Life is a barren field

Frozen with snow.

The weather is so hot here in Korea these days. The sunlight is strong, but most of all, the humidity is high, so it feels hotter. So I remembered last winter in my head and suddenly wanted to see the winter photos, so when I printed them out, I noticed that I was changing little by little as I came across this poem.

Experiment24  B&W

This time, I uploaded the picture first. When it's very hot these days, I like pictures like this.

But the poem depicts the morning, and the picture was taken in the middle of the night. The time covered in the photo and the poem is different, but I think the atmosphere that comes out of these works is very similar.

Winter morning poem    By Ogden Nash

Winter is the king of showmen,

Turning tree stumps into snow men

And houses into birthday cakes

And spreading sugar over lakes.

Smooth and clean and frosty white,

The world looks good enough to bite.

That's the season to be young,

Catching snowflakes on your tongue!

Snow is snowy when it's snowing.

I'm sorry it's slushy when it's going.

When I read this poem, I think that winter has come quickly and that it would be nice. Thank you so much for watching my transcription again this time. 🙏🙏

I don't really understand exactly what this poem means, but I guess some words and rhymes of this poem represent how beautiful this poem is.

I transcribed this poem with a fountain pen, and today, strangely, I really like the writing I wrote.

As I read this poem, I feel like I'm facing a playful child.

Ветер  /  Иннокентия Анненского

Люблю его, когда, сердит,

Он поле ржи задернет флёром

Иль нежным лётом бороздит

Волну по розовым озерам;

Когда грозит он кораблю

И паруса свивает в жгутья;

И шум зеленый я люблю,

И облаков люблю лоскутья...

Но мне милей в глуши садов

Тот ветер теплый и игривый,

Что хлещет жгучею крапивой

По шапкам розовым дедов.

Today, I chose a picture where you can feel the wind while facing the picture. I'm posting this picture because three Cosmos I did earlier this year were captured looking good together.

Thank you so much for reading my writing again today. 🙏😅

ABOUT ME

I have been photographing as a hobby and I am active in Guri,Korea. For my own expression method, I take various flower photos and use a scanner to work on photography. So a small flower in the soil became a pleasant secret in my heart.
