[Self-written poem] My disobedience_20241203 [ Photo with Poem ]

This poem that I've just posted here is a poem that I wrote in early December.

The President illegally declared a martial law on Dec. 3, but conscientious South Korean soldiers protested the president's order and many citizens blocked it, ultimately failing the martial law.

As I watched this process, I thought that the emergency martial law failed as a result of our nation's soldiers protesting against orders from illegal and unreasonable superiors and failing to follow directions properly.

On that cold winter night, I wrote down this poem, imagining that these soldiers would have hesitated and balked very much at the orders of their irrational superiors.

heart-wrenching cold wind
leaning his helmet against the rattling window
with a deep sigh
Tightened my boots with all my strength
Couldn't take a step further

Knew I was suffocating
Have the strength to stand in my place and endure it
Thought it would break like a wilted flower
That heavy step
It's been a slow, slow walk

_ You are not guilty

I linked a Cosmos photo here. I picked a photo that was a tiny, slender flower but looked like it was rebelling.

2024 was a year full of many changes and great twists and turns for me, and I think the Republic of Korea also had a very difficult time. Our country could have sunk with just one mistake. The people of the Republic of Korea and the National Assembly ran to Yeouido to prevent this, and the soldiers of the country defended the democracy that their seniors had built up under the name of mutiny.

In that sense, I wrote down this humble article.
